These terms are agreed to when entering.



Participants of the Abersoch Triathlon must be 17 years of age or older on the day of the event. Participants in the Abersoch Holiday Homes 1K Beach Sprint must be 5 years or older, and entrants under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult registered for the race. Each participant must sign the disclaimer before participating in the event.

By taking part in the Abersoch Triathlon or Abersoch Holiday Homes 1K Beach Sprint, all participants confirm that their names, along with any television and/or video footage or photographs taken during their participation may be used to help publicise & promote the races or Abersoch Triple Crown events.

I know that participating in a Triathlon or 1K Sprint is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter the event unless I am medically able and properly trained. As a participant I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks associated with this event, including but not limited to drowning, falls, and contact with other participants.

I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, including death, damages or loss which I may sustain as a result of participating in the event.

I agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of predicating in the event.

I agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of participating in the event against Sensation Group and its officers, agents, servants, employees and event sponsors.

I do hereby fully release and discharge Sensation Group and it’s officers, agents, servants, employees and event sponsors from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damage or loss which I may have or which may accrue to me on account of my participation in the Abersoch sprint triathlon.

Each participant must sign the disclaimer before participating in the event.

Participants will compete in the triathlon event comprising of a swim in open water, cycle on open road and run cross country entirely at their own risk.

Completion of your entry will be considered as an acceptance of the governing body rules. The British Triathlon rule book can be found at https://www.britishtriathlon.org/competitionrules

Transfer / Defer Rules

Participant race numbers are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged with or transferred/sold to any other person unless done so officially through the race office (to info@sensationgroup.com).

Sale and/or transfer of race numbers is strictly prohibited and may result in the disqualification and/or banning of any individuals involved from future events.

All entry fees are non-refundable, and may not be deferred toward a future event unless requested with and authorised by the Race Director via email (to info@sensationgroup.com)

Deferral requests must be made at least 30 days or more before the race and if cleared by the Race Director the following fees apply:

Deferring to another event orgnaised by Sensation Group in the same year: £5 fee if 90 days or more from the race, or a £10 fee if between 30 and 90 days before the race.

Deferring to the following year: £10 fee if 90 days or more from the race, or a £20 fee if between 30 and 90 days before the race.

A Participant that becomes pregnant after entry may opt to defer their entry to the same Event in following 2 years provided that such Participant has provided proof of pregnancy (e.g. Note from Doctor or Midwife) to the Organiser at least 30 days in advance of the Event via email (to info@sensationgroup.com). The Organiser reserves the right to request additional verification and to deny a deferral if the proof provided is deemed insufficient. Once deferred, no further deferrals can be made, and the entry becomes non-refundable.

You are eligible for a full refund (minus a £10.00 admin fee and the online booking fee) within 7 days of the date you booked. This does not apply where a booking is made within 7 days of the event date. Due to the nature of these types of sporting events we are unable to make exceptions for illness, injuries, job changes etc.

Race Change Rules

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, which results in the potential prospect of unsafe conditions. The following terms apply:

1. We will amend the course to make the event safe, giving you warning where possible. This may include switching to a duathlon or aquathlon or a change to the start time, route(s) and/or cut off times: or

2. Where conditions cannot be made safe, cancel the event

Where the event is modified under condition 1 above, no refund will be offered. In the event of a cancellation under condition 2, competitors will be either offered the option of a new date or to transfer to the next year’s event under the same terms of their existing registration.

Where possible, we shall give at least 24 hours notice to any potential amendment or cancellation.

No refunds will be offered if cancellation is due to an unforeseeable natural disaster or ‘act of God’.

Under no circumstances will the race organisers be responsible for third party costs incurred by competitors for travel, accommodation or such like.

I have read and fully understand the above athletic event and Waive and Release all Claims.


Event day

Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel & security, during and after the event.

All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event. This means, for example, that urinating or defecating anywhere on or near the course shall be strictly prohibited except in toilet facilities. Anyone violating this rule of conduct shall be disqualified from the event and will be asked to leave the course.

Every participant shall be provided with a race number, which MUST be worn and clearly visible on their back during the bike section and on their front fur during the run section of the event. The race number is to be worn as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate number.

All participants must write their name and details of any health problems or medication on the reverse of the race number. Participants should also inform the race organisers of any special medical conditions.

Participants must begin the event during the official recognised starting times.

A Sweep vehicle will follow the back marker. Before starting the race please give careful consideration to your ability to complete the course in the allotted time.

The start

Participants shall assemble near to the start no less than 15 minutes prior to the race start and be ready to listen to the race safety briefing.

2 minutes before the start gun, all participants must be positioned in the start area and behind the starting line. All participants must run over the start mat to activate their timing chip, failure to do so will result in a finishing time not being available for them.

Course monitoring

Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official or course marshal, or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who uses offensive actions or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified from the event and future participation at the discretion of race officials.

Any participant who has been found by a course marshal or event official to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the race (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event.Any person who participates in the event either a) without a current official race number and timing device or b) with a chip or race number not officially assigned to him/her is subject to removal and disqualification from future events.

No persons are authorised to be on the course unless they are registered participants. Therefore, no person shall be allowed to accompany a participant if he/she is not registered in the event, nor shall any participant be allowed, without the permission of the event management, to receive assistance from anyone during the progress of the event. Any person not properly displaying an authorised and issued race number shall be directed to leave the course.

Participant safety

Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colour relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.

Medical personnel authorized by the event to do so may examine any participant who appears to be in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event.

Participants must retire at once from race if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any person in authority, including fire and police officers.

Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services.


Result timing

All participants are assigned a chip timing device prior to the event to be worn at all times on their left ankle.

Gun time is the official time used for all prize results. Official times are calculated from the start of the race by the starting claxon to the point where the participant crosses the finish line. Times shall be rounded to the next highest second.

Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously from start line to finish line, to receive an accurate finish time.

Participants found to be wearing two or more timing devices during the race will be disqualified and their results will not be recorded.

Participants must begin the event during the official recognised starting time in order to register an official course completion time.


Any individual requesting a waiver of any of these rules from the event shall submit a written request no less than 14 days prior to the event date specifying the nature of and reasons for the request.


Event officials reserve the right to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules without notice. It is participants’ responsibility to check the Event website for any changes. Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification, loss of prize money and removal from official results.
